Yoga mat ranking - Best yoga mat in 2026
A yoga mat is specialized training equipment that forms the basis of yoga practice. It is a non-slip pad, usually made of natural rubber, TPE or PVC, which provides a stable surface when performing asanas (yoga postures). The yoga mat is primarily used to make exercising more comfortable, to ensure safety through better grip, and to protect the body from the hard surface of the floor. A good quality yoga mat should be thick enough (usually 4-8 mm) to cushion the joints, but at the same time stable enough not to impede balance. Non-slip properties are key, especially during dynamic sequences or when hands and feet become damp from sweat. If you are planning to start a yoga practice or want to replace your current mat, we encourage you to check out our ranking of the top 5 best yoga mats in 2026. We'll be happy to help you choose the perfect model for your needs!

Moonholi Travel is a folding yoga mat made of natural, biodegradable rubber and premium microfiber made from recycled materials, completely PVC-free. Our testers especially appreciated the interesting design and the possibility to choose from different patterns, as well as the excellent grip of the mat during intense exercises 👍. The mat works perfectly for various types of yoga and other activities like pilates. The eco-friendly approach to coloring - the use of water-based inks and natural dyes from fruits and vegetables 🍓🍒 - is also positive. However, the mat has its downsides. Testers pointed out the minimal cushioning, which can be insufficient during longer sessions. Some of them were also dissatisfied with the weight of the product (1 kg), which is higher than the product in the first position of our ranking. The biggest complaint, however, turned out to be the very high price 💰, which can definitely discourage.

The HMS TPE YM1 yoga mat is a product that our testers showed both its strengths and weaknesses 🧐. First of all, our testers appreciated the high-quality TPE material, which provides excellent slip resistance during exercise. The included carrying case, which makes transporting and storing the mat much easier 👍 was also positively evaluated. Versatility of use is another advantage - the mat works well during yoga, as well as other forms of physical activity. Testers were pleased with the cushioning, which provides adequate comfort when exercising on hard surfaces. However, not everything was to the liking of our testers. The main complaint was the patterns on the mat - according to our testers, they are too flashy and do not fit in with the peaceful nature of yoga practice 🤔. In addition, it was noted that the mat has a relatively high weight, which can make it difficult to transport, especially during longer hikes to class. Also of concern is that the mat can delaminate after heavy use, which affects its durability.

The Fit.Me brand yoga mat aroused mixed feelings among our testers. They were overwhelmingly positive about the non-slip properties - the mat grips the ground well and provides stability during exercise 👍. Our testers also noted the water resistance and ease of cleaning - just wipe the mat with a cloth after training. The practical carrying strap proved very convenient during transport, and the versatility of use allowed for a variety of workouts - from yoga to pilates. An unpleasant surprise was the intense chemical ⚗️ smell after unpacking, which persisted for several workouts. Testers noted that the mat got dirty easily and required frequent cleaning, especially the bright colors. After several months of intensive use, there were signs of average durability 😞 - the mat began to slightly deform in the most frequently used areas.

The Spokey Savasana cork yoga mat caught the attention of our testers at the first glance with its interesting, natural 🌿 appearance, which stands out against standard synthetic mats. The mat performed superbly - the non-slip surface provides a firm grip, and the lack of "sticking" to a sweaty body is a definite advantage over synthetic materials 😍. Testers were quick to point out that the mat is noticeably heavier than the PVC models they are familiar with, making it difficult to take into the field. The rough cork texture proved problematic for those with sensitive skin - some testers complained of imprints and marks from more intense sessions. Another challenge was the difficulty of maintaining cleanliness - the cork tends to absorb sweat 😓 and odors. Testers also noted limited cushioning and less flexibility than rubber mats, which can be troublesome for longer practices.
